Valentine’s Day is only a few weeks away!

Friday, January 27, 2012
Are you feeling the love in the air? With Valentine’s Day just weeks away we thought we’d share some ideas of romantic things to do on the Gold Coast.

Gold Coast Gondolas:

Sink back into a sheep-skin covered seat and meander through the Gold Coast canals in your very own private luxury gondola! Elegantly decorated with a beautifully appointed dining table, flowers, candle lantern, ice bucket and glasses. (Fleecy rugs are also provided in cooler weather.)

Bring your own drinks and snacks or take advantage of a breakfast, lunch or dinner package.

Stay tuned for another romantic idea next week!

Yanguwah, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Friday, January 20, 2012
Yanguwah means 'Welcome' in Yugambeh Language and is the name of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary's latest Dinner and Show.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s Yanguwah experience immerses guests in an engaging evening of Indigenous Australia and native wildlife. The experience includes a traditional welcome ceremony, Kup Murri feast, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander song and dance performances and an introduction to native Australian animals and their connection to Aboriginal people. Feed a friendly mob of kangaroos, hold a koala, crocodile or snake and if you are lucky, witness a Tasmanian Devil rip into their ‘tucker’.

The Kup Murri, a traditional method of cooking in the earth, delivers a delicious selection of meat and vegetable options supported by traditional mouth watering dishes and fresh fruit. Experience a meal you’ll never forget.

Doors open at 5:30pm for a 6:00pm start with the evening concluding between 9:00pm and 9:30pm. Visit http://www.cws.org.au/

Tropfest Film Festival, Sunday February 21st 2012

Friday, January 13, 2012
Surfers Paradise Alliance along with Circle on Cavill are proud to present ‘Movie Extra Tropfest’ to the Gold Coast audience.

The world’s largest short film festival, Tropfest, is simulcast live from Sydney to the Big Screen at Circle on Cavill, one of the Gold Coast’s premier outdoor precincts.

The festival is one of Australia’s iconic cultural events, which began with humble beginnings in the early nineties in an inner city Sydney local, the ‘Tropicana Café’. Creator and founder John Polson quickly realised the event’s potential and set up the foundations for what is now the largest outdoor short film festival globally.

This year, a variety of food and beverage options will be made available for Tropfest guests from the comfort and convenience of your own seat.
Alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages will be available from the bar on the day, for consumption within the event zone.
